The session took place at the Nova Information Management School (NOVA IMS) in Lisbon, 30 January 2020, during the first participative event done under the ASEBIO project.
In this workshop, we assessed researchers’ and practitioners’ perceptions on the ES availability in Portugal based on their professional background and main interest in this topic.
Scientific output
The results of this session are conceptualized in our research article “Disentangling ecosystem services perception by stakeholders: An integrative assessment based on land cover” published in Ecological Indicators.
The paper describes a participatory methodology for extracting stakeholders’ ES perception for continental Portugal based on land cover using analytical hierarchy process (AHP), matrix-based approach with data visualization techniques, and scenario analysis.

The maps were produced for each of the Ecosystem Services selected to depict the average perception of stakeholders regarding ES supply.
